Question by EMC2: Can white furniture be painted to look like dark wood furniture?
I have white furniture and I don’t like it anymore and I wanted to know if there is a way or a special paint I could use to paint over the white so it looks like dark wood furniture.

You would have to paint a faux finish over it but it can be done.
I painted concrete floors to look like mahogany wood.
You will need a can of glaze. Clean the furniture with TSP and prime with oil-based primer tinted to your base color. 1 quart should do.

Yes, it’s called faux finishing, there are all sorts of books on it at your local bookstore or craft store.

  2. I saw a wood grain kit in the paint department of the Home depot and Lowes Looks like it would Good Luck
