Question by Lauren: Can you mix black and white furniture in a bedroom?
I’m redoing my room and I already have some really nice white pieces of furniture. I want to get a new dresser and bookshelf but I was thinking about getting them in black to break up the room a little bit. Is it okay to mix black and white furniture together?

of course! it is totally retro and chic! black and white are an awesome pair, especially if you add one or two small bursts of color, like hot pink pillows, of yellow flowers, or a turquoise picture…. etc. im sure it will look great!

   It is, but it depends on the color of the walls. If the wall color(s) is(are) warm, the effect should be excellent. If not, two lamps could reduce the contrast. Also, if your room has a big window, you should place the white furniture near that window and leave the black items for the rest of the room.

   Black and white would look great together. Throw in a few brightly colored accessorizes and the room will be awesome.
