good luck with that
uhh there’s office furniture in office depot and staples =]
You shouldn’t impulse purchase furniture. Office max/depot/staples are the typical places that come to mind, but there’s also amazon.com and ikea, as well as target and kmart
There are stores that sell used business furniture–you can look in your local yellow pages.
Also, if it’s a home office, does it have to be beautiful right this minute? [Even if you have customers coming in, they might understand if your brand new, depending on your type of business)…
BECAUSE HERE’S WHAT WE DID: we set up a ‘temporary’ desk in my new home office consisting of an old oak door as a desktop, an old 2-drawer file on one side and an inexpensive adjustable height Black and Decker X device on the other to hold it up. And you know something? Once I put all my Gizmos on that Big Ol’ Oak Door Desk-the computer, printer, speakers, etc–it doesn’t look half bad–in fact, it looks kind of cool contempo. And the sprawling, busy desk makes me look like a ‘hard worker’ instead of like some prim, proper person sitting at a skinny, undersized desk with nowhere to put a stack of papers!
….and here’s the BIG SURPRISE–
I LIKE the spaciousness of my door top desk SO MUCH that, even though I’ve been looking at high-end office furniture to replace it, I just can’t find anything as spacious or comfy as my Big Oak Door Desk!
ANOTHER OPTION–consider looking through Craig’s list on line and in the ‘for sale’ section of your newspaper–AND on sites like ‘STUFF FOR FREE’ (I can’t remember the .com name–but my friend actually got a piano, organ, and 2 sofas through them).
The thing is that $500 is still a fair amount of money–do you REALLY want to buy low end Office Max furniture, only to have to replace it later? Offices don’t have to ‘look’ expensive–but you’d be stuck with drawers that would warp and stick and break very quickly.
