How about a beach theme? White sand and blue skies. You can always add some small items with Other beach colors as you go along.

You could do a sky theme. If you want japanese, try Sakura blossoms ;D

remember it does not have to be a specific theme it could be elements

    or crystal blue

    water
    white feathers.
    or a design element
    ultra modern

    Hi,

I have the same colors in my bedroom, but this would work in any room. I favor modern and elegant decor items. I use soft golds as an accent color with the pillows, stripes in my curtains and the picture frames. All of the pictures have black backgrounds and bright single flowers in whites, pinks and soft greens. I have white orchids in a large urn type black vase. It looks nice against pale walls. With these colors you could still use a Japanese theme and keep it all looking nice and airy. Maybe paint some canvas pieces and make your own Japanese symbols. (just a thought) Good Luck!

the beach theme would work great
or add chocolate brown for soft lines such as drapes, pillows, etc

Japanese themes tend toward ‘spare’ look with open spaces and no clutter at all, furniture that is as decorative as it is functional, natural materials, lots of natural wood and earth tones and neutrals (black is considered a neutral space color), and ikebana style flower displays in niches. Nature is respected in all ways. The colors you mentioned would not meet that decor style.

The style of walls and furniture that you mention actually sound more Scandinavian then Japanese.
